My family was in the goat pen inspecting a potentially injured nanny goat. We all had highly active goats surrounding us trying to figure out why we were giving our attention to this one lone nanny.
You may not be aware, but goats have pecking orders in their herds, just like chickens do. This means there is always a leader of the pack, and each of the other goats have a level of acceptance and authority falling under the alpha (or lead) goat. There are no peers in goat herds.
At this particular time, one of the lower ordered goats was standing right in front of me. An alpha goat decided to put her in her place by head butting her broadside. This caused her to stumble and lose her footing, which resulted in all her 250 pounds falling into my left knee with full force.
Need I tell you how painful this was? I screamed out in pain and sat on a dirty pallet just behind me. I cannot remember the last time I cried aloud, but this day I wailed it out! It was the pain, the shock of what happened, and the fear of potentially more pain that made the crying uncontrollable.
My son and my husband immediately began to pray over my knee. My daughter quickly arrived on the spot, having heard the commotion from across the yard. All three of them laid hands and prayed. In less than 10 minutes the pain began to subside, within 15 minutes I decided to stand up and see what would become of this.
The pain was completely gone! My knee still felt very strange, so I began limping out of the pen and back to the house with hubby right by my side. Halfway across the yard, I remembered what God had taught me about not giving the enemy any leeway. So I stopped and told my husband I refuse to favor this leg for another step!
I began to walk, and Glory to God, I was able to walk perfectly! About 10 paces away, I had three steps to walk up, but maneuvered them perfectly with no issues.
Oh the praise we gave to God that day! I know I will be telling this story for years to come, bringing glory to our God and a black eye to the enemy!
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,
(Revelation 12:11)
Without the immeasurable greatness of God’s power available to us, I would have spent countless hours at the hospital and untold weeks on crutches. What Satan meant to destroy me and slow down my ministry work, God uses for His great glory!
