Esther’s Stand

Queen Esther’s adversary Haman was second in command beneath the king himself.  He even wore the king’s very own signet ring.  This man was methodically killing all the Jews within the king’s providences.  The life of Esther’s people, her Uncle Mordecai and even her own life were in danger.

How could she stop this man?  She had no power or authority in the court.  If she just burst into court she could be put to death.  Knowing this, Esther had to prepare very carefully, cautiously, and wisely.  She would not prevail on her own.  She needed God.  She needed Him more now then ever before in her life.  She sent word to her Uncle Mordecai to gather all the Jews locally to pray and fast for three days, just as she would herself.  She knew by herself she would not prevail, but by first seeking God’s favor with fasting and prayer, she could prevail in God’s will and purposes.

Not only did Esther prevail with her own life spared, the decree to kill the Jews ended.  And her adversary Haman was put to death on the very gallows he had built at his own house to hang Esther’s Uncle Mordecai.  God’s will to protect his people the Jews was accomplished by someone who stepped out in faith.

God wants us to come to him for our every need in that same faith with all our decisions in life.  Not just when our life is on the line.  “God help me be that reliant on you, in your power, and for your glory that your will be accomplished.” May this be your prayer today as well.

God bless you and keep you,  from your Sister in Christ Jesus.
