When their master comes home, the joyous dog twirls, leaps, prances and dances about even if it’s only been five minutes. This is the excitement I imagine we should experience being in the presence of our LORD.
And David danced before the LORD with all his might.
2 Samuel 6:14
Palm Sunday gives me a little taste of that kind of joyousness upon the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem.
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
John 12:12-13
This was no whispered flat-tone proclamation. This was a celebration. Oh, if we could be so free in our worship for our LORD, and Savior. The dog doesn’t care about what anyone might think of his excitement.
We are even instructed submit and obey.
Submit yourselves to God…
James 4:7
And if we love the LORD, we will obey his commandments.
If ye love me keep my commandments.
John 14:15
In Jeremiah 7:23, God speaks through the prophet, and says:
But this thing commanded I (GOD) saying, obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it my be well unto you.
It is my prayer when the LORD commands I obey; when He asks to come I; and when the Holy Spirit leads I follow.
Oh just to be a happy dog, happy dog, happy, happy, happy dog.
