And they have conquered him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
Revelation 12:11
This scripture just stumped me when the Lord showed it to me. I knew the blood of the Lamb was powerful to conquer the enemy. After all, the Word says that Jesus came to destroy every work of the enemy. (I John 3:8). But there is something else that conquers the enemy – our testimony!
Some people ponder the whole idea of miracles and healings, concluding that to desire such extravagant demonstrations is a bit haughty. To expect such attention from God or man is just plain arrogant. Some even question if God performs miracles in these days.
But stop and consider. There is a great miracle that is the common experience of every true believer – your salvation! Nothing is more extravagant than to have your very nature changed from an old one to a completely new one. I suspect this testimony alone gives the enemy quite a punch!
We must remember that when miracles are experienced, the attention is squarely on Jesus Christ. He alone is the performer of miracles; there is nothing we can do of ourselves. So truly, the testimony of the saints is in reality a testimony to the power and authority of Jesus Christ. And it is through His blood being shed that we have that power and authority. Every time the testimony is shared, the faith of a soul is built up, further defeating Satan.
So I walk in expectation of miracles in my life, because I desire the testimony.
