As your kiddos or grand-kiddos are heading back out to another year of school, remember that academics are important, but education in the Kingdom of God is by far more critical to your children’s future!
Educating your children is much more than reading, writing and arithmetic. Its core values, character and integrity issues, and understanding Truth. The teachers at school will teach academics, but during that process they quite often undermine the more critical issues of developing who your child becomes. It is your job as a parent to guard your children’s hearts, and it’s up to you to shape their character and their world view.
So please! I implore you! Do not send your child off to be “educated” and step out of the equation! You are the main factor in this equation! You have an assignment before YHWH God to raise up each child in the way they should go – God’s way. God’s Truth.
This takes time. Patience. Relationship. And the Spirit of God fully in control of your life so you can show your children by example how that looks for their life. Let them practice. Let them make mistakes. Correct in love. Guide them in the Truths of the Word. Be the true essence of a “parent.”
Might I add, from my personal experience, there is no greater joy than to sow your life into theirs and then reap the fruit of that work when they become adults.
